Can new company group insurance refuse to pay for/treat hiv patients and/or pay for hiv medications?

If the condition is preexisting to a new policy taking effect, can group insurance offered by large companies refuse to pay for treatment/medications for patients who are HIV +? Any links to laws regarding this issue would be greatly appreciated.
