Does a preexisting issue with a laptop that still occurs after the warranty expires survive the warranty?

I'm amazed that HP is giving you a hard time about this. They've known for a good long while now about how those things overheat. I know there was a recall on some of their laptops because of this very issue. Take your complaint higher up the HP food chain and see where that gets you. And next time buy a Dell.
