Flaking day old tattoo... Help?

On the 28th, I got some cherry blossoms added on to a preexisting tattoo. I've been putting Johnson's Green Tea lotion on 5-6 a day but I'm considering switching back to Aquaphor, which is what I used for my first tattoo. Last night, I noticed some scabbing and flaking, which I thought was odd to be occurring this early on, because the entire area still hurts. I woke up this morning to find a similar situation in all three of the flowers (there are extra details around them, mostly black swirls). I found a very small piece of ink missing in one of the flowers, and I don't know how that happened. So my question is, is it normal for my tattoo to be flaking this early? It hasn't even been two days and it still hurts this morning, so I find this strange.
