What is the basic difference between these sub genres of metal music?

Black metal,Death metal,Screamo and Brutal.Its not like I dont know it at all,but often there are arguements about these so I have some doubts.Also,metal listeners who possess a considerable degree of knowledge are requested to answer,I dont want crap and misleading answers.
