What would cause someone to have a large red spot on their skin?

there's a girl i like and she has a really big red spot on her neck/chest but i don't want to ask her about it because i think it would be rude. it's not just slightly red, it's of considerable color difference. also i found out today that she has a lot of a allergies which is probably relevant.
