Will I suffer for writing raps without a beat?

I know most rap writers either write their rhymes to beats they've found/do them at the same time. Out of all the raps of written, only one of them has been written with a beat in mind. Will, I get screwed over later if I continue to write raps without beats/try to find a beat to a preexisting rap of mine? I know I won't have access to anyway to find/rap beats for awhile, but I think I'll lose my touch if I stop writing raps until then. Any ideas on writing beatless raps/finding beats after? Thanks.
