Should I pay to fix my friends car?
Me and there other friends decided to drive to columbia, sc for the weekend (we live in charleston, sc). Rasheda offered up her car to go since it got out the shop the same day we wanted to go. Well, Rasheda gets mad at Star and literally at the last possible second decides she doesn't want to go and tells us to take her car without her. We tried to convince her to get back in the car bt she refused. So we left friday morning without her (hour and a half drive) and came back early sunday morning. Now she's saying that we owe her money because we messed up her car. She said one of her tires was leaking and all her fluids were leaking. There "supposedly" was nothing wrong with the car after it came out the shop. Im no mechanic but I told her that there is no way in hell we caused her fluids to leak in 2 days and that she had a preexisting problem with the car and I wasn't finna pay for what was broken in the first place. I understand the tire because we might've ran over a nail or something, but the rest is not my problem. She said everybody knows to check the fluids when you drive long distances and told her the if the car is decent you dont need to check especially when we only drove a hour and a half away. My pontiac ist the best in the world but it got me back and forth between charleston and Atlanta once a week when i first moved to charleston and I NEVER checked the fluids, I just got an oil change and kept it moving. I feel like she should be mad at the mechanics because they obviously ain't do their job, or be mad at herself because she never let us know that her fluids leak or to check frequently. And no warning or check engine lights ever came on to possibly even make us think something might've been wrong with her car. I dont feel like I should pay to fix what was wrong with her car before I even saw the damn thing
